Terri Eckel Veterinary Pty Ltd was established in 2014 by Terri Eckel with a vision to provide quality veterinary care to Charleville and surrounding towns. Starting with just Terri herself the practice now has two veterinary nurses and is continuing to grow.

Terri Eckel Veterinary is located only a few kilometres out of Charleville on the Pretty Pines property, set in beautiful tranquil bush land.

Our mission at Terri Eckel Veterinary is to offer the highest quality of veterinary care available. We strive to treat your pets with compassion and respect. Along with our highly trained team, we have access to a range of instruments including in-house blood analysis machines, microscopes, ECG, a digital x-ray machine, an ultrasonic dental scaler and polisher, a digital dental x-ray machine, comprehensive anaesthetic monitoring devices, blood pressure machines and so much more!

Our surgery utilities specific technologies and programs, allowing us to keep up to date information regarding your pet and ensuring vaccinations are kept up to date.

As well as the many veterinary services offered there is also a dog boarding kennel available on site offering affordable quality care for your cherished pets when you need someone else to care for their needs.

Meet Our Team

Dr Terri Eckel has always had a passion for animals and dreamed of becoming a vet her whole life. She realised her dream in 2010, graduating from the University of Queensland and now owns her own veterinary clinic in Charleville, Western Queensland. Dr Terri Eckel opened her clinic in 2014 and together with her team strives to provide top quality vet care to Charleville and surrounding areas.

Dr Terri Eckel

Terri is the owner and head veterinarian of Terri Eckel Veterinary. Terri is a local girl having grown up in Charleville. She loves her job and thinks it is one of the best professions in the world. Terri completed her veterinary studies at the University of Queensland in 2010. After graduating she worked in Bathurst but the call of the west had her return to her home town to provide excellent veterinary services to the lovely people of Charleville. Terri’s special veterinary interests include, but are not limited to, equine dentistry and small animal surgeries. Terri’s fur babies include Jimmy Choo, the hospital patient tormenting cat, and Dolly, the adorable Jack Russell.

Dr Katherine Castles (Lutz)

Dr Kat is one our very new permanent part time veterinarians here at Terri Eckel Veterinary. Kat is vastly experienced in mixed animal veterinary practice and brings to the clinic an erray of extra remedial service offerings. Kat is a mother to two beautiful children, and is an avid art creator and plant enthusiast. Kat is also our local ambassador for our Bilby program here in Charleville.

Gretchen Duff

Gretchen is our head nurse and has been with the clinic since 2015. In this time she has completed her certificate 4 in veterinary nursing and is now stepping into the practice management role. Gretchen and her partner are currently embarking upon house renovations which are keeping them busy outside of work. When Gretchen is not working or renovating she also enjoys the many sporting activities we have access to here in Charleville. Gretchen’s fur family are Esta the Bull Mastiff cross.

Lisa Cornwell

Meet our receptionist – Lisa. Lisa is also a Charleville girl. She has ventured out a few times but always seems to find her way back. Lisa has a Certificate 3 in Business Administration, Diploma of Business Administration and is a certified Consciousness Coach. In her spare time, Lisa enjoys cooking and entertaining for friends, renovating and creating works of art. Lisa’s favourite part of the job is seeing the animals go home with their owners, happy and healthy. Lisa’s fur family are Willow – a staffy cross kelpie, Sparrow – a Border Collie & Jefe – a English Blue Staffy.

Gina Clayton

Gina is our veterinary assistant and Jack of all trades!! Gina moved to Charleville from the Gold Coast in 1984. She enjoys ‘going bush’, camping, yabbying and anything ‘outdoors’. Gina enjoys working and Terri Eckel Veterinary as each day is different. Gina enjoys learning new things.

Paige Donald

Paige is our trainee veterinary assistant . Paige has been living in Charleville for about 4 years now. Paige enjoys being behind the lense of her camera, competing with her horses and hunting with her dogs. Paige loves seeing patients that are really sick make a complete turnaround and go home happy and healthy.

Maddie King

Maddie is one of our part-time trainee animal attendants. Maddie loves her job because she loves working with animals. At TEV she is always learning something new and that makes her job exciting. Maddie was born in Charleville and has completed her schooling in Charleville. She loves living in outback Queensland, hanging with mates and riding horses!

Olivia Burke

Olivia is one of our part-time trainee animal attendants. Olivia is a country girl, growing up in Longreach and Charleville. Olivia loves working at Terri Eckel Veterinary because she has a passion for animals and experiencing new things. In her spare time, Olivia enjoys spending time with her family and riding horses.
